Adapted from Peter and the Wolf (Russian: Петя и волк, Petya i volk), Op. 67, is a
composition written by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936 in the USSR. It was written for children,
with both music and text by Prokofiev. The original performance was narrated and
accompanied by an orchestra.
This stop motion animated film was an Academy Award winner in 2008 for Best
Animated Short Film. It was adapted and directed by British animator Suzie Templeton
with an animation crew primarily based in Poland. It uses stop-motion, puppets and
digital photography. The producers of the film chose to make the film in this way over
other mediums and techniques.
